Flora Vintage | Botanical Embroideries

These vintage pieces are embroidered with select botanical designs inspired by Ellsworth Kelly’s plant drawings.

Kelly’s works capture the essence of form with such elegance and restraint, and I wanted to honor this incredible body of work in a way that feels meaningful.

Each selected drawing is translated into embroidery and stitched carefully onto vintage pieces. The process is slow and intentional: choosing the design, thread color, and placement with as much consideration as Kelly gave to his line.

 

The canvases are French chore coats, trousers and jumpsuits from the 1940's, sweatshirts and tees from the 1960's thru 80's and work shirts from the same decades.
